Acomplia the popular weight loss drug which was highlighted by the FDA in 2007 and reported on this blog again in 2008 was finally withdrawn by the EU almost 12 months after it was rejected in the US.
The EMEA (The European equivalent of the FDA for pharmaceuticals) has suspended Acomplia due to the risk of serious psychiatric disorders following a number of reported suicides being linked to the anti-obesity drug. Read more
