Aerobic exercise provided you have a fair level of fitness is a great way to get your cardio vascular system working and a good way to get your body in trim. Aerobics exercise works on the whole body and is a proven method to shed pounds quickly and trim away some of that excess fat.
You will note I said if you have a fair level of fitness before considering aerobic exercise as I highly recommend at least a health check carried out by your gym to ensure you are up to the type of aerobic exercise you are considering and ideally have a full physical with your doctor.
This type of aerobic exercise is ideal for getting in to shape , but some people are at aerobic exercise with specific goals in mind such as getting rid of podgy tummies, triming their butts or just removing a few excess pounds around the waist. These can all be dealt with a aerobic exercise routine and some simple weight work
Whilst it’s not actually possible to spot tone a specific area as weight does tend to choose how it is distributed itself you can help by toning specific areas with certain types of areobic exercise
For example toning the stomach area can be helped by incorporating plenty of stretching and and twisting from the middle by doing several reps (repeat a number of times) you stretch and tone these areas and help encourage the breakdown of body fat
A majority of aerobic exercise trainers include a floor routine during their classes. This part of the class generally involves many sit-ups which is a very effective way of toning up the tummy muscles and getting rid of belly fat. Sit-ups are generally incorporated in to the end of a aerobic exercise session when the stomach has already been exercised and more supple
I was told by one of my friends that another type of aerobic exercise women enjoy and can have a lot of fun doing is learning to belly dance as this helps he muscles build up in this area and also helps with toning. Although becoming increasingly popular these classes are not as common as aerobic exercise classes but can be a good way to exercise but have fun while doing so
Other great forms of aerobic exercise which can be fun and a little different are spinning classes (basically aerobic exercise on a exercise bikes) dance classes both the traditional dance class as well as dance based exercise routines which have become more popular as the result of all the celebrity videos available and finally one which is becoming very popular with some members of the celebrity set, that is pole dancing lessons don’t knock it until you’ve given it a go….
