Britney Goes And Does It Again Losing Weight But Is It Healthy?

Britney Spears it seems has seriously started to rebrand herself after her recent torrid time with hair cutting escapades, drinking problems, relationship issues and total self destruct of a only a few months ago.
But is this transformation just another step in the up down world of Britney or has she finally turned a corner.
The media have picked up on the fact she has stopped the binging on junk food and started on a pretty intense health, fitness and weight loss regimen. It seems that these changes in her diet and life style have helped her tremendously but is losing around 30-40lbs (her claimed weight loss) in a couple of months really healthy?
Some nutritionists believe that with intense effort this kind of weight loss can be achieved safely after all the likes of Britney can afford the best medical advice, personal trainers and the like but most would still agree such radical weight loss can be very hard to sustain and it is generally much better to lose weight over as sustained period.
In my book Lose 10 Pounds in 2 Weeks I explain that some rapid weight loss can be very motivational and not that hard but as is the case with most diet plans this level of weight loss is very difficult to sustain over time.
These are some of the measures it has been suggested Britney has used to help her lose weight so quickly. Although of course we will never actually know what she really did. However if she follows most celebrities we can expect a diet book some time next year or at very least some sort of indication in her new auto biography ” Opps I Screwed Up Again!” or some other appropriate title!
Any way that’s enough speculation here are the ways Britney claims to have lost all the weight and got her body in shape and her life back on track again.
1. Cut out all sugar: Now adding to sugar to food is definitely a no-no but I understand Britney has also cut out all fruit juices and other foods containing sugar. This may potentially leave her short of essential vitamin C and fibre and no one can dispute the nutritional value of fruit but I suspect she will take supplements for this to counter act any ill effects.
2. Knocking the Junk Food on the Head: It seems McDonalds and KFC are no longer Britney’s favorite places to eat and she has swapped this for a brown rice which is much lower in fat. However just one word of advice if eating rice watch your portions as it is very high in carbs and quite high in calories around 290-305 calories per portion.
3. Saying Bye-Bye To Juicy Steaks: Britney is replacing steaks and red meat dishes with healthy grilled chicken and fish (such as salmon). I am sure you don’t need me to tell you with most foods always buy the best you can afford and sacrifice portion size for quality if on a budget (not that Britney has that problem). Cutting out red meat will reduce fat intake so it a great option.
4.Eat Advocado’s: Now there is nothing wrong with advocado’s ( i love them in a guacamole) but you need to be aware of the fact they are pretty high in fat it’s not saturated fat which is a big plus but any fat will make you fat. An average advocado will be around 260 calories and contain 20g of fat.
5. Eat Egg Whites For Breakfast:- I have never really understood why people avoid the yolks when although they add a few extra calories they will mean you feel fuller and then need less for lunch or won’t get the munchies before lunch.
6. Keep Calorie Intake To 1200 a Day:- I is certainly possible to live on 1200 calories a day with some careful food selections (you can get some ideas on this blog) but I think you are probably pushing yourself too hard and will find it hard to sustain. In addition you’ll with out doubt need to take mineral and vitamin supplements.
7. Say No To Frappuchinos and Stick To Espresso:-In most of the unposed pictures you see taking by the paparazzi Britney is carrying a Frappachino it may shock you but this along with the junk food could have been a major player in her weight gain. I did a little research and worse of the lot according Starbucks Website the Double Chocolaty Chip Frappuccino® Blended Crème - whip contains a earth shattering 510 calories and some of the more modest versions range from 200-500 calories.
A regular espresso will only add 5 calories which is pretty good if you need a caffeine fix but better for you are fruit and herbal teas (without milk) but I for one find it hard to pass on my coffee so stick to black coffee or if you must whiten it use a splash of skinny milk.
