Diet Tooth Paste sounds in theory a good idea don’t your think and I have to say when I heared about this a short while ago I was more than a little curious.

I however have done some research on your behalf and this is what I found out…
This is what they claim in their advertising which is interesting. A revolutionary toothpaste promises to help you lose those extra pounds whilst maintaining your oral health! Diet-Aid Toothpaste contains the chemical Chromium (a toothpaste first) and just as fluoride produces healthy teeth, chromium effectively controls appetite. Chromium is also renowned for helping to maintain a healthy blood-sugar level.
Priced at £5.99 The Original Diet-Aid Toothpaste is available to order online at
http://www.dietaidonline.com/

I have to confess I was a little cynical so I looked deeper in to this …
Diet Aid Toothpaste reckons it can take the edge off your appetite and have you consuming up to 500 calories less a day - the reduction in eating necessary to lose a pound a week.
Wow they can’t be serious can they ( I checked the date of the article not April 1st so we should be OK)
Â
It’s expensive - nearly $12 a tube, three times the price of regular toothpaste. So for that kind of money, so I am guessing it’s not exactly flying of the shelves you are a cynical lot.
Diet Aid Toothpaste’s manufacturers claim the magic ingredient is appetite suppressant chromium which using my rarely used degree in chemistry is a metal. (what aren’t they supposed to be dangerous).
Read on…
Chromium, they say, plays many roles within our body, including regulating metabolism, insulin and blood sugar levels. They state that chromium deficiency is responsible for sugar cravings, energy slumps, irritability, mood swings, increased PMS and dizziness.
This all sounds a little bit fishy to me ….Actually it sounds like a bunch of scientific BS to me.
The toothpaste taste’s quite normal - and it would have to as the accompanying instructions tell me I have to brush my teeth, tongue, roof of mouth and sides of cheeks for at least two minutes, five times a day.
I’ll tell you something that is not easy with an electric tooth brush.
I have tried this for a few days now but it seems to take forever to finish I have to get up 10 minutes earlier just to squeeze it into my schedule.Â
My toothbrush and diet aid toothpaste have gone with me every where If went out for the day I kept it in the car, visiting friends I had my little yellow soap bag with my trusty toothbrush and paste. It became almost a challenge to find somewhere to clean my teeth but I am not one for quitting.
I have to say sticking to this has been a nightmare but do I eat so much … No of course not if you had squeeky clean teeth would you want to get them dirty.
So that’s their game or is it…?
You see I have to say I drunk less coffee and I eat less snacks but is that just because I feel guilty at getting my teeth all messed up. Or spoiling my minty fresh confidence. Can’t really claim to have the answer.
One side effect I did notice was every time I eat something cold or hot it hurts like hell so I can only assume this stuff is not for those with sensitivity.
In 2 weeks I lost about 2 pounds hardly revolutionary since I ate less because I put less food in my super clean mouth. Ok It prehaps takes time to see real results but I can say brushing your teeth works wonders for your self confidence but I bear in mind the hefty price tag I could probably have a go that by using my regular Arm and Hammer.
I contacted some of my science buddies to see their views on the effects of Chromium and they said a categorical NO it won’t work but what do they know?
Not being one to quit with out a fight I spoke to the Dentist he was even less happy as the diet tooth paste doesn’t even contain flouride. He couldn’t or wouldn’t comment of the diet implications.
I was starting to give up on the concept of diet tooth paste when I came across this another Appetite Suppressant Tooth Paste called F.A.S.T.
Â
I have yet to speak to Dr Zuckerman but take a look for yourself if anyone who lives nearby want to give this one a try video your results and we will make you famous. I emailed Dr Zuckerman today so I will keep you posted on his feedback.
I guess to conclude I don’t know the jury is still out as to whether diet toothpaste is for real or not? Watch this space.
I also wrote a great post about teeth brushing (normal toothpaste) on my other blog which you might also want to read it’s called the Weight Loss Master. It’s new so if you are a blogger why not come and visit us over there occasionally as well.
