the big breakfast

The traditional home from breakfast it seems may be one of the key ingredients of succesful weight loss but before you start grabing the frying pan there are a few conditions that you’ll have to satisfy first.

It seems scientists can’t stop doing survey’s in the cures and causes of obesity which is expanding with an alarming rate across large parts of the world. Some refer to this as an epidemic but is that just a half hearted attempt to get people to listen and more importantly take some action.

Now a survey carried out in Venezuela has shown that lo carb whilst showing results quicker when it comes to weight loss longer term sustainable weight loss requires a diet high in carbs. Is this yet another contradiction of conventional views (or at least those who advocate lo carbs weight loss).

These scientists discovered that those who ate a substancial breakfast were able to eat less between meals and experienced few hunger pangs before lunch. Whereas those who adopted a lo carb regimen experienced the sense of feeling hungry and wanting to eat.

Provided it is grilled the ideal breakfast is one which consists of bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, mushrooms and tomatos which provided quality products are used is low in fat and high in protein which encourages the metabolism.

The study showed that initially 94% of women on the lo-carb diet lost weight but over an extended period they almost all regained their weight when compared with those on the ‘Big Breakfast Diet’.

So whats next maybe Mcdonalds will be coming up with the ultimate Big Breakfast or perhaps they’ll leave it to IHOP or The Waffle House or the other major Diner chains spread across America.

I am still not convinced (if we accept this finding as one of value) we will see most Americans choosing the healthy (grilled option) and also portion control needs some work for most establishments…

But maybe there is some light at the end of the very dark tunnel for changing the AVERAGE AMERICANS diet and eating habits.

I wouldn’t hold my breath but watch this spce for updates.
