Fat free yoga is the latest version of the DVD created by the increasingly popular Ana Brett and Ravi Singh and I have to say this is already very popular and many of their products have been reviewed in most of the popular Yoga magazines.
Ravi Singh and Ana Brett have over 40 years combined yoga teaching experience, they claim to look for new methods, approaches, depth and insight to teach their pupils Kundalini Yoga. The system they teach is a system of exercise and meditation that fully integrates the body, mind, and spirit.
They have produced several best selling DVDs and books and trained over 300 practicing Kundalini Yoga Teachers world wide. Their clients have included Olympic Athletes and celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Sting, and The Red Hot Chile Peppers. So there is no doubting that they know there stuff so I was expecting big things and generally speaking they deliver on their promises.
So that’s enough about the authors lets look in detail at the Fat Free Yoga DVD itself.
The all new updated Fat Free Yoga DVD now features a Work Out Matrix Menu Option and with the aid of the DVD you can learn how to breathe properly, move and stretch. In addition to learning how to relax and mediate.
This DVD it is said will show you how to boost your metabolism, reduce your weight and feel energized and inspired to greater things. The DVD is conveniently broken down into 4 chapters for a playing total of 90 minutes. Which gives you at total of four 20 minute workout session and two 5 minute meditation sessions.
The DVD begins with a breathing exercise for energizing and to curb impulsive habit patterns something we can all benefit from. Then we have the first part of the DVD is entitled Start Your Engines, which features some effective exercises to boost metabolism.
My personal favorite and that of many reviewers is the cardio warm-up called ‘Ravi Rolls’ with the breath of fire.
The next session is called The Fight Fire w/Fire segment (don’t you just love these titles?) this focuses on abdominal strengthening and toning. These are exercises anyone can do, but you will really feel the burn so be prepared and realise this is not for the faint hearted or those that quit at the thought of having to put any effort in to lose weight. Don’t believe people who tell you that you can sit on your butt, do nothing and lose weight it is never going to happen!
Section 3 covers called No Impact Aerobics it really gets your circulation powered up and your motor really running. Give the Frog Pose and Piston Pose a go and you’ll know what a yoga workout really should be!
The lasts chapter on the disc is Your Life is in Your Own Glands which is designed to take your hormone balance to optimal levels.
Finally we should not forget the really valuable meditations on this DVD which appear perfect for relaxation and for calming and emotional healing.
I quite liked this DVD and I think it should be fine for pretty much anyone from those more advanced to those new to yoga. Be aware that if you are not very fit some yoga can be really physical but you can build up to it. Yoga is not a sit on your chair and get thin alternative but for people prepared to put in effort the results can be really good. Yoga appeals to a lot of women and there will probably be a yoga group in your town. Not only can this be good for fitness and weight loss but also a great place to make new friends.
