There are dozens different reasons why someone may want to lose weight, but it’s a pretty safe bet that almost everybody will want to lose a few pounds of weight at some point in their lives.
Losing weight makes you feel and look better, and will increase your self confidence more than anything else I know.
An great place to start for most people is to set a goal to lose 10 pounds any more at seems impossible and any less and it’s hardly likely you’ll even bother . Like in many other aspects of life, the key to achieving your goal - to lose 10 pounds - lies in proper planning and execution or if you like it’s just a matter of discipline.
Now I am not talking tying you up and whipping you kind of discipline (although that might be fun for some?) I am talking about self discipline or if you like that old cliche’ will power.Â
Everybody is different not people’s lives are the same . We all have different lifestyles, different schedules and abilities, and it’s important that this is always important to remember when approaching your project of losing 10 pounds.
Before you actually begin trying to lose the weight, you must decide on a realistic plan that is right for you.
Now the absolutely worst thing you can do is set a plan that is too difficult to achieve.
Let me explain…Â
Let’s say your a busy working mom, don’t create a plan for yourself that entails exercising 15 hours a week, it’s not gonna happen and before you know it you’ll be feeling all guilty and bad about yourself which is only going to make you give up and not try again.
No you need to make a target that is challenging but possible to fit in to your daily routine with only minor disturbance or inconvenience anything more and you’ll never last the distance.
Any weight loss effor should in the ideal world compose both dietary changes and an increase in exercise.

Depending on your situation, you may want to focus on one more than the other but don’t starve yourself or do damage in the gym.
Lets say you want to lose 10 pounds but don’t have time for lots of exercise (who really does your probably thinking?), you might want to focus on your diet, which after all requires more discipline than time. Back to that will power thing again i’m afraid.Â
When looking at your diet, do some research and come up with some healthy meal ideas that you don’t normally eat. Plan to eat these new meals on a regular basis in other words ditch the take aways and pizza’s at least for now.
You want to break your eating plan into as many small steps as possible, so that you provide yourself with many small, achievable goals in a reasonable time frame.
For example, you may decide on monday to spend a hour or so on the internet searching out healthy meals, then the next day on your way home from work buy the ingredients on Tuesday, and start the new healthier you on Wednesday…
You’ll find many recipes you can use in the Lose 10 Pounds In 2 Weeks Book which I am giving away to all blog readers at the moment Click the link  to Lose 10 Pounds and you’ll find many more on the blog as well.
Not only does this split the work up - if you leave it all to one day it’s far more likely you won’t have the time to do it - but it creates a constant sense of accomplishment which makes you want to carry on.Â
Now let’s say your plan to lose 10 pounds is going to be mainly through exercise an admirable option but again if you haven’t done any exercise for 10 years don’t start planning anything too much at this stage of things.
Again, don’t plan to “exercise 10 hours a week” because what will probably happen is you’ll put it off all week and then won’t have time for it. You want to plan to exercise for an hour a day, I suggest two half hours is more likely to fit in your schedule but add ten minutes extra at night so you feel tired and sleep better. Oh I nearly forget to say you’ll want to try and incorporate that exercise into other activities like walking to work, walking the dog … get the idea.
At least half the battle with trying to lose 10 pounds is one of self discipline: as anyone who has been on a diet or exercise regimen will tell you, it’s easy to start a diet but hard to stick with it.
The worst thing you can do when trying to lose 10 pounds is to set yourself up for failure, as this is a cycle that tends to repeat itself. By creating and executing a well thought out and realistic plan, you give yourself a huge advantage in your ultimate goal of losing 10 pounds. I have given you the chance to get hold of my proven and high popular Lose 10 Pounds in 2 Weeks for nothing for the whole of this month so there are no excuses are there?
